Police seize 4500 'hits' of ice in bikie gang raid
THOUSANDS of "hits" of ice will be kept off the street after police seized 453 grams of methyl-amphetamines, or ice, after catching up with a suspected bikie gang member on the Gold Coast.
Police searched a Currumbin business and a Reedy Creek home, finding the haul of narcotics worth about $300,000, drug-using equipment, a rifle and ammunition.
Police will allege they found an illegal drug laboratory when raiding the business, and related tools at the house.
A 20-year-old Black Uhlans member was charged with possession of a dangerous drug.
He will face court in late January next year.
Taskforce Maxima Detective Inspector Brendan Smith said the arrest would make Queensland safer, by keep 4500 doses of ice from reaching buyers.
"Police often see clear links between illegal drugs and offences of violence and property crime," he said.
"This is why we will continue to target criminal gangs.
"It is important we do all we can to change their offending behaviour to protect Queenslanders."
