Police seize ecstasy, amphetamine and cannabis on Gold Coast

POLICE have seized 1000 ecstasy tablets, 100 grams of amphetamine, a "significant amount" of cannabis and more than $11,000 in cash after raids on the Gold Coast.

Two men aged 21 and 35 from Burleigh Heads have been charged.

When the region's Major and Organised Crime Squad searched the Burleigh Motel, police will allege they also found a .45 calibre semi-automatic pistol and .22 calibre semi-automatic rifle which had been customised into the shape of a handgun.

A vehicle, mask, wigs and 40 rounds of ammunition were also taken by police.

The two men face 11 charges including drug possession and supply, firearm offences and possessing proceeds of a crime.

They are expected to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today
