Police say no evidence of Flinders View child abduction

POLICE have found no substance to claims that three men in a dark ute attempted to abduct a child in Flinders View on Wednesday.

The Queensland Times Facebook page had several comments from readers who were warning parents about the men, who they claimed had tried to lure a child into their vehicle at Chelsea Close in Flinders View and again at Winston Glades Shopping Centre at Yamanto on Thursday.

A police spokesman told The QT that detectives had spoken to the child at Flinders View and determined that at no time did the men threaten the child or attempt to lure him into the car.

There was no police record of an attempted abduction at Yamanto.
