Police officer injured in car crash

A POLICE officer has been rushed to hospital with head injuries following a three vehicle accident at Springfield.

A truck and two cars collided nose to tail on the Centenary Highway about 8am this morning.

The injured police officer was alone in their vehicle at the time.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to the PA Hospital.

A second injured person was taken to Ipswich Hospital.

The crash created traffic chaos and police were required to put diversions in place.

It took about two hours to clear the scene.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
