Police issue warning after alleged mailbox thefts

IPSWICH police are encouraging residents to be vigilant with their mail following a series of alleged thefts from mailboxes on Darling St.

A teenaged male, who was wearing a grey tracksuit, was seen rummaging though mailboxes in the afternoons.

It was reported the teen had taken mail from various properties and disposed of unwanted envelopes along his route.

It is believed the man may have been looking for post with valuable contents enclosed such as banking information, money or gift vouchers.

Report any suspicious behaviour regarding mail-related incidents to Policelink on 131 444.
