POLICE investigating the murder of Lockyer Waters man Michael Desmond Manson will set up a roadside re-enactment at the place where he was last seen alive in an effort to obtain more information.

Mr Manson, 48, was found dead in the back of his dark blue Ford Falcon utility which was parked on a bush track, off Bolingbroke Road, Atkinson Dam on December 10.

It was believed to have been several days between when he died and when he was discovered and authorities are yet to determine a cause of death.

However Mr Manson's death is being treated as suspicious and police in charge of the investigation have revealed they believe he was involved in a roadside confrontation with a man driving a silvery-blue Holden Commodore sedan.

Acting Detective Inspector Mick Trezise said the cars were believed to have been parked by the side of the Coominya Connection Road in an area about two kilometres west of the Coominya township.

Insp Trezise said the possible fight between the men may have happened late on the evening of Wednesday, December 8 or early on Thursday, December 9.

“Police have received a lot of assistance from the public but we are seeking more help and are asking anyone who has the smallest piece of information to contact us,” he said.

“We remain confident there are people out there that may have information to assist us in our investigation and will be at the roadside (tonight from 7pm) in an effort to jog people's memories who may have passed through the area at the time of the incident.”

The two vehicles will remain parked in the area until midnight tonight and police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Investigations are also continuing into the murder of 35-year-old Buaraba man Carl Robert Upson.

Mr Upson was found shot dead at his home on Mt Mulgowie Road, near Esk, last Thursday by police who had received information. Insp Trezise said police were still investigating a possible link between Mr Upson's death and that of Mr Manson.

The location of Mr Upson's house, the place where Mr Manson was found and the place where he was last seen alive are within a 10 kilometre radius.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers, 1800 333 000.
