Police investigate foul play in West Ipswich house fire

POLICE are yet to rule out suspicious circumstances in a fire at a vacant house in West Ipswich.

Neighbours reported seeing smoke coming from the Keogh St house about 2am Saturday.

Firefighters arrived about 2.05am and the fire was out within about 10 minutes.

There were reports of some structural damage to a small area of the timber house.

Detectives from the Ipswich CIB are appealing for anyone with information on the fire, which is thought to have started inside.

Police confirmed that the house was vacant at the time, but were unable to comment on how long it had been unoccupied.
