Police investigate claims of gunman threatening woman

POLICE are investigating claims that a woman was threatened with a firearm at a Silkstone residence this afternoon.

Several crews rushed to a house on Morris St about noon following reports of a disturbance involving a man armed with a handgun.

Officers wore bullet proof vests, however it is understood the armed man fled the house before they arrived.

No injuries have been reported.

Detectives from the Ipswich CIB are speaking to witnesses.
