Police identify human remains found in Rockhampton as male
FORENSIC testing has shown the human remains found in Rockhampton earlier this week belong to a male person.
Scientific officers continue to comb the property off Bowlin Rd, Rockhampton, where a farmer this week made the gruesome discovery.
Police are not making any assumptions as to the identity of the remains.
Bowlin Rd has in the past been a significant area of interest in the murder investigation of Robert Martinez and Chantel Barnett.
Rockhampton Police Criminal Investigation Branch officer-in-charge Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Moon is set to address media shortly.
"This is a major step forward in our investigation and will assist greatly towards the identification of the person," Snr Sgt Moon said in a statement issued by Queensland Police shortly after midday.
