Police and dog squad chase down hoon after crash

POLICE chased down and arrested a hoon in Ipswich after he crashed a car near the PCYC.

After reports of hooning, police were called to a crash on Thorn St about 9.40pm Saturday and found a vehicle abandoned.

The same car had been seen driving at high speeds on Warwick Rd earlier, while there had been further complaints reported to police about a hooning vehicle on Pelican St.

The police dog squad was called in and clothing from the driver was found on the corner of South and Thorn Sts.

A 19-year-old man was eventually found and arrested by police.

Investigations into the crash are continuing.
