PM told: We need more help

GOODNA flood victims were consoled by Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard today.

Ms Gillard visited Bourke Court in the flood-destroyed suburb and spoke to several residents who had their homes destroyed.

The residents told Ms Gillard bluntly that her government had not done enough to help them and they were left to live in ceiling-less rooms, without any money to fix them.

"It’s always a great thing to get out on the ground and see it with your own eyes," Ms Gillard said.

"To see the dimensions of the damage. It’s so tough for people."

Ms Gillard also visited Goodna State School today.
