Plea for help on Operation Gyprock

WESTLIFE Church in Goodna will launch Operation Gyprock tomorrow aiming to secure 50,000 square metres of gyprock to enable displaced Goodna residents to bounce back from the demoralising situation still confronting many of them.

More than 500 homes were affected in the Goodna area by the January floods and more than 95 per cent of those affected are still living in caravans, nursing homes, with family and friends and in other temporary accommodation.

It takes about 150 square metres to reline the internal walls of one house.

Westlife is appealing to the community, particularly the construction industry, to assist with helping provide gyprock sheets or vouchers from Bunnings or Mitre 10 for the sheets.
