Plane crash kills all 10 people on board in Alaska

AN AIR taxi has crashed at an Alaska airport on Sunday, killing all 10 people aboard, a National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigator said.

NTSB has confirmed that nine passengers and the pilot were killed when a de Havilland Otter aeroplane burst into flames at Soldotna Airport, KTUU reported.

The accident happened at about 11.20am and sent the fixed-wing aircraft up in flames, said Meagan Peters of Alaska State Troopers.

The victims have not yet been identified.

The NTSB is sending a team to investigate the crash.
