Pizza Capers is a Facebook favourite

MAMA MIA! One hundred and ninety-five Italian food lovers took to the QT Facebook page when we asked where in Ipswich was the best place for pizza.

Numero uno was Pizza Capers in North Ipswich, with 24 votes.

"Pizza Capers North Ipswich, great food, friendly staff and they are always giving back to the local community, helping out where they can," said Emily Cooper.

"Pizza Capers hands down best in town!" added Dylan Ansems.

Franchise owner Katherine McNamara said it was the fresh ingredients and customer service that set Pizza Capers apart.

"We have new and exciting flavours that you can't get anywhere else," she said.

"The use of restaurant quality ingredients and the attention we take to ensure everything is made the way it should be is something we're proud of.

"We sponsor the Ipswich Rangers rugby team and little athletics and we also donate prizes to school fetes and charities, we really appreciated the community support."

"Rustico, good food, great service and always a great night out," said Coralee Hiesler.

"Rustico have genuine Italian wood-fired pizzas and are gorgeous," added Amanda Kent Sentinella.

Tomato Brothers and Redbank Pizza and Ribs were also a hit with 10 votes apiece.

Others went a bit further out of town to get their favourite slice.

Peak Crossing Pub was a few people's choice with many recommending their home-made pizza.

"Biggest best pizza I have ever tasted," said Carmel Molloy, adding: "One piece fills you up, it's just a 20min drive from Ipswich."

But for Sarah Louise and Alex Lake there was no beating mama's homemade cooking: "At home, homemade is healthier and less expensive," said Sarah Louise.

"Home, nothing better than a homemade pizza," Alex Lake agreed.
