Petersen silent on council tilt

PATRICIA Petersen isn't ruling out running in the coming Ipswich City Council elections after receiving more than 9% of the vote in Ipswich.

The independent yesterday said she wasn't yet making any decisions on her political future including a speculated run for council.

"For the next day I'm going to be focused on saying thank you to the nearly 10% of Ipswich that voted for me," she said.

Dr Petersen said she was shocked at the swing against Labor and surprised that ALP member Rachel Nolan had been ousted.

She said she would spend today outside Rachel Nolan's office with a sign thanking the people who voted for her.
