Confessed killer missing from mental health centre

AN IPSWICH man deemed unfit for trial after killing his partner in 2008 is still on the loose from The Park Centre for Mental Health.

David Robert Terelinck was on community leave from his treatment plan when he failed to return by curfew to The Park on December 17.

Mr Terelinck, who is also known as David Casper, admitted to stabbing Ian McMillan to death in his North Ipswich home in April, 2008.

He was charged with murder but deemed unfit to stand trial and eventually detained under a forensic order for treatment at The Park.

A Queensland Health spokeswoman said Mr Terelinck had been granted leave several times over the last year, up to and including four nights at his own unit. Mr Terelinck is described as Caucasian, 176cm tall with a slim build, short brown hair, with tattoos on both arms.

Anyone who may have seen Mr Terelinck or has information about his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
