Pastor goes from Goodna flood to Hawaii tsunami

A GOODNA pastor who lost his home in the January 2011 floods was in the path of the feared Hawaii tsunami.

Pastor Ben Naitoko spoke to Australian media from his hotel room.

Pastor Naitoko eventually moved to a higher floor; thousands of other residents evacuated the area, seeking higher ground.

A tsunami alert was issued after an earthquake off British Columbia in Canada.

It was expected to hit about 7pm Queensland time.

However Hawaii state officials on Sunday canceled the tsunami warning after the anticipated waves rolled in lower than expected, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
