Early childhood centre host play

THE kids at Churches of Christ Care’s Parklands Early Childhood Community Centre kept the spirit of Christmas alive this year with a nativity play.

The Ipswich centre’s service manager, Robyn Pointing, said the children did a wonderful job at the recent performance and the night was a huge success.

“All the children were so excited to get up on stage and perform, and the parents were also just as excited,” Ms Pointing said.

“This year we had a lot of input from parents, with one of our parents providing the nativity play for us to perform, as well as helping to provide costumes for the children.”

There were 15 older children in the nativity play who took on various roles such as Mary and Joseph, shepherds, angels or wise men and were joined by staff.

They performed a variety of other Christmas songs including Colin Buchanan’s Jesus You’re my Super Hero and more traditional carols like Jingle Bells.

“We really wanted to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas and convey the importance of being with family and giving to others,” Ms Pointing said.
