Twist on hardcore-metal scene

PUTTING their own twist on the hardcore-metal scene and pulling it off, you could imagine the amount of attention Sydney metal band Buried in Verona is getting.

Following the success of their third album, Notorious, which reached number 20 on the ARIA chart last week, the boys are bringing their sound to Rockhampton as part of a national tour this winter.

The band is playing only four North Queensland shows and will visit the region on Monday, July 2, to perform an all-ages show at Saleyards Football Club.

The band will be supported by lead-up acts Prepared Like A Bride, Thanartist and local boys ExileThese, with their shows expected to pull substantial crowds around the country.

Buried in Verona has been described as a band to seriously push the boundaries of the Australian hardcore-metal scene.

Brisbane's Rave Magazine described the Sydney group's music as: "How's this for a recipe for success? Release killer and under-appreciated sophomore album, tour relentlessly with the who's who of modern heavy music, head to the studio and combine metalcore with deathcore flourishes (with) uber-metal dude Fredrik Nordstrom, and then top it with a Notorious B.I.G. album title reference."

Everest event manager Georgia Donald said Buried in Verona was one of the most exciting up and coming bands Australia had to offer.

"With a mix of melodies and heavy riffs they are bound to blow you away," she said.
