THE winner of the Queensland Times $17,000 Gold Lotto ticket came up empty handed in the weekend's $20 million super draw.

It seems Jeanette Kitching's luck ran out when she claimed the prize and a golden chance for lotto riches, not winning a single cent in the massive draw.

But Mrs Kitching was philosophical when only one number and a supplementary were drawn on Saturday night.

"It's a game of chance and that's all it is. It was out there to win and it just didn't happen," she said.

"You know some people can just go out and buy one ticket."

The letdown hasn't deterred Mrs Kitching from purchasing lotto tickets in the future.

"Of course I will," she declared.
