Making the Grade liftout

IT’S that time of the year again when the Queensland Times shines a spotlight on the region’s youngest, and arguably the cutest, schoolkids.

The QT’s 60-page full-colour Making the Grade publication will be published on March 30 featuring the Prep grade class of 2011.

Production editor Linda Brady said the annual publication was always a challenge to put together but was well worth the effort.

“There are 184 Prep classes around our district this year, so that’s 184 photos to take, print and put on the pages,” she said.

“Our photographers have spent the past few weeks going to each school, pulling out all the stops to get lovely grins out of the Preppies.”

“I believe asking them to say ‘monkeys undies’ has worked pretty well.”

Ms Brady said the keepsake publication was a great way for mums, dads and grandparents to celebrate the start of their little one’s school life.

“Starting school is such a big step, and we are thrilled to be able to produce a publication that helps document that important time in a child’s life,” Ms Brady said.

The publication covers an area roughly north to Harlin, south to Maroon, west to Gatton and east to Springfield Lakes.
