One in five Queensalnders test positive to DUI

One in five Queenslanders tested for drugs on Saturday returned a positive result, police say.

Road Policing Command Inspector Allan Hales said the results were disappointing, coupled with five fatalities that have occurred so far during the Queen's Birthday Weekend.

The drug tests included drivers and people tested on the street by officers, a police spokesman said.

Statistics on the weekend's positive drug results were not available on Monday, but police are expected to released them on Tuesday.

"There are some hotspots throughout the state, but they're often linked to the alcohol hotspots so they're very similar," Inspector Hales said.   Read more at Brisbane Times
