Norths let lead slip to Bombers

IT WAS reversal of fortunes for Norths Tigers yesterday afternoon.

The normally slow-starting Tigers found themselves 22-12 up midway through the first half against Fassifern at Keith Sternberg Oval, before being overrun in the second half.

The Bombers pulled level with three quick tries to close out the first half, and kept the momentum going into the second period.

Bombers coach Daniel Roos missed the contest, currently spending time with family in North Queensland.

But he was kept up to date throughout the match, and said he was extremely proud of how his side have turned their season around after a slow start.

"I sent the boys a message saying I had complete confidence in them,” Roos said.

"The work they've been doing on the training paddock is slowly starting to appear on the football field which is good to see.”

Roos praised the influence of fullback Bland Abavu, who helped turn the Bombers' fortunes around in the first half.

Fassifern Bombers 58 def. Norths Tigers 32 at Keith Sternberg Oval, North Ipswich.
