Driver killed after car rollover was a man in his 30s
THE person who died following a single car crash at the intersection of Tuntable Falls Rd and Gungas Rd was a 35-year-old man from Nimbin.
About 2.45am Wednesday morning, police and emergency services were called to the scene, following reports of a crash.
Initial investigations suggest a white Ford Falcon, being driven by a man, left the roadway on a bend and ended up on its roof.
The driver, and only occupant of the car, died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.
A crime scene was established and investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
It is the fourth road death on the Northern Rivers in four weeks.
Less than two weeks ago, a woman died in a two-car collision on the Bruxner Hwy near Tabulam.
In that crash, one other person was taken to hospital with serious injuries and seven more people sustained minor injuries.
A week before that a man aged in his 40s died following a motorcycle and car crash on Paddys Flat Rd, about 35km north of the Bruxner Hwy, at Tabulam.
It appeared the motorcycle was travelling south towards Tabulam when it crashed into a Toyota Landcruiser travelling in the opposite direction.
On June 19 a man died on Henderson Rd, Coraki, after his car hit a tree and burst into flames.
Due to the heat of the fire the car was totally destroyed in the blaze.
