No threat to properties in Goodna or Redbank from back-burning

PLUMES of smoke over Goodna caused alarm among residents concerned a house may be on fire.

Firefighters were called to a large area of bushland between Goodna and Redbank on Thursday following reports of several fires.

Two crews attended an area near the corner of Sutherland Cr and Davies St about 1.40pm, where they found minor grass fires burning.

A decision was made to back-burn the entire area, which left a considerable amount of smoke over the suburb, but no serious threat to properties.
