No happy ending for Swede on prostitution charge

A SWEDISH national who offered "hand relief" with massages at a Buddina home earned up to $1190 in a day, a court has heard.

Ida Maria Hamalainen, 31, pleaded guilty in Maroochydore Magistrates Court yesterday to knowingly participating in prostitution between April 1 and December 24 last year.

The court heard a mobile phone nominated as "Mia's work phone" was among a number of items seized when police raided a Kyeema St home on December 23.

That phone's number matched the number advertised online for a "hot sexy Swedish blonde body rub".

Police prosecutor Sergeant Stephen Potter said Hamalainen had earned up to $1190 in a day.

Sgt Potter said Hamalainen, who was in Australia on a student visa, told police she had rented a room at the home about a year ago to provide Swedish massages.

The court heard she told police she performed massages naked or topless but denied performing hand relief or happy endings.

This was despite messages on her phone advertising hand relief.

However, police had obtained a signed statement from a client who said he was provided with a naked massage with hand relief.

Hamalainen's defence lawyer said his client was aware other girls who worked there masturbated their clients for more money and she made a decision to do the same.

Hamalainen was fined $1500 and no conviction was recorded.
