No change to Wivenhoe releases

RAINFALL towards the end of the week resulted in minimal inflows to Wivenhoe Dam.

A Water Grid spokesman said minor releases were continuing to ensure the level remained at 75 per cent of the full supply level.

“Seqwater is working together with the Bureau of Meteorology to closely monitor the rainfall over the weekend,” he said.

“At this stage there are no plans to increase the existing routine releases.”

The spokesman said there were no impacts downstream on the Brisbane River as a result of the minor releases.

The viewing platform at Wivenhoe Dam remains closed due to safety issues.
