Ninth dog trainer faces Ipswich court

A NINTH greyhound trainer has been charged with animal cruelty in relation to the live baiting scandal that rocked the industry.

Mark Robert Blackwood, 42, appeared in Ipswich Magistrates Court yesterday charged with one count of serious animal cruelty in Churchable on October 8, 2014.

Blackwood was also charged with assaulting or obstructing police in Strathpine on April 20.

The matters were adjourned to June 15. Other trainers who have already appeared in court charged with serious animal cruelty include Deborah Arnold, Reg Kay and Tom Noble.
