NiE - Making Choices

You will be faced with many choices in your life and sometimes it's hard to make a decision. What will I have for lunch?  Which movie will I go and see? Should I jump off the rock into the water below? What subjects will I choose at school?  What job do I want to do? Some choices are easy and there's a clear answer to the dilemma you are faced with, while other decisions can be very difficult because they are very important, possible life changing situations. You may be afraid of the consequences of making the wrong decision or making a commitment to a choice and sticking with it. Or you might make compulsive judgements without really thinking about the outcome. You might make a bad decision that leaves you or others unhappy and full of regret. Whatever the process you use to arrive at your decision, your satisfaction with your decision will depend largely on whether you claim ownership of your choices. You may not always make the right decision but by taking full responsibility for your choices, you'll know you did your best and you'll have gained valuable experience for next time. On the other hand, if you feel pressured into a choice or not in control, even a positive outcome can have negative implications.
