New Springfield IVF clinic delivers hope to local couples
COUPLES who are having difficulties conceiving can now access expert support locally.
A team of seven fertility specialists has moved to Springfield to consult at the City Fertility Centre, bringing with them decades of experience in obstetrics, gynaecology and fertility.
Dr Neil Astill is one of the new specialists who has started helping Ipswich women fall pregnant. He said one in six couples experienced fertility issues, but not all those required IVF.
"Being able to offer patients a completely local fertility service in a modern and comfortable setting will be of great benefit to local couples experiencing fertility issues," Dr Astill said.
"If a couple are having difficulty achieving a pregnancy we encourage them to come and seek more information.
"Sometimes we just need to reassure them they are doing all the right things, sometimes we can offer pre-IVF treatments that may help them conceive, and only about one third of our patients will require IVF.
"No matter what the fertility concern may be, ultimately our goal is to help people conceive by providing a high quality fertility treatment service in a caring, compassionate and supportive environment."
