New parole office opens in Wharf St

THE State Government has opened new probation and parole offices in Wharf St, Ipswich.

Minister for Corrective Services Jo-Ann Miller said the former office, at 265 Brisbane St, was established in 1996 and was one of the oldest probation and parole offices in Queensland.

The new Southern Regional and Ipswich Probation and Parole District Office, manned by 40 staff, supervises the largest number of offenders in the state.
