Business puts art in the picture
A NEW framing business has been established in Ipswich.
Articulate Framing is located at 54 Limestone St, opposite the Coles Supermarket site.
The business was originally established in Bellbowrie, a western Brisbane suburb, by owner and operator Steve Rainbow, but after the flood he made a decision to move into central Ipswich.
"I opened Articulate Framing in Bellbowrie in 2007 and until the January floods the shop was based in the Bellbowrie Shopping Plaza," Mr Rainbow said.
"After being completely wiped out in the floods, and after a lot market research, I decided to move Articulate Framing and re-establish it in Ipswich."
The new location is a larger site and incorporates a retail shop, framing workshop and an art gallery.
Apart from the physical location, Mr Rainbow is now online with two websites - one for his gallery and the other for framing.
He also keeps an active Facebook page to share updates with his clients.
"I created a separate website called Articulate Pictures to enable local artists and people to have a place to sell their artworks from," he said.
Mr Rainbow said the gallery's opening exhibition had gone well.
"We have some d'Arcy Doyle work this month and we have a one night, invitation only exhibition showing some stippling artwork."
He plans to have regular exhibitions with local artists showing off their work.
"I always wanted a gallery and this location gives me the room to do it," he said.
"I cater for both the domestic and commercial markets. In fact I class myself as a 'domestic framer'.
"This simply means I frame for anyone and everyone in the community and my prices are very competitive.
"No job is too small and obligation free consultations or quotes are always available."
For more information about framing or the gallery contact Mr Rainbow on 3496 1110 or go online.
Articulate Framing is open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and until 1pm Saturday.
