Neumann predicts pre-poll could decide Blair
BLAIR MP Shayne Neumann has cast his vote this morning and told the QT the pre-poll count will be a vital element in deciding who wins the seat.
Mr Neumann voted at City Hope Church in Ripley this morning with his wife Carolyn.
He is making a tour of the electorate to sure up support for his campaign and acknowledged that the increased pre-poll vote this election will be vital in deciding whether he or LNP opponent Teresa Harding won Blair.
"I've been at Raceview, now I'm at City Hope (Church) and now I am on my way to Springfield Central," Mr Neumann said.
"Then I'll make my way through Redbank Plains to the booths at Riverview and onto Bundamba. Finally I will finish at Ipswich State High this afternoon.
"I think we are going OK.
"But a lot fewer people are taking how to vote cards and a lot fewer people have voted on the day.
"Pre-poll is going to be even more important so we may not know until later on this evening when the pre-poll is counted whether we will win.
"I think they will finish that around 8.30pm or 9pm.
"I think Labor has a very strong presence around the booths in Ipswich.
"They are bunted well and signed well, and we have a team of enthusiastic volunteers who are doing their bit for the cause.
"The voters in Blair can have Malcolm or they can have Medicare."
