NDSHS students learn about ethical food

Noosa District State High School Year 9 humanities students were provided with some interesting information about sustainable and ethical eating during a guest speaker presentation run by the Ethical Choices Program’s Field Educator Lily Roberts.

The students were informed on the environmental impact of industrialised food production in Australia and they were equipped to make thoughtful decisions about where they source their food.

Year 9 humanities students are currently undertaking an investigation on food production on the Sunshine Coast and are making recommendations for a more sustainable future in their assessed geography reports.

The presentation by Ms Roberts extended the students’ knowledge and encouraged critical thinking and news ways of producing food, including clean meat products.

The students found the presentation very worthwhile and will incorporate these ideas into their geography report.
