Nature's beauty captured

FROM creek to farm paddock to dense bushland, Ipswich's beautiful environment and the creatures that inhabit it have been captured on camera.

The 2012 Ipswich Enviroplan Photographic Competition showcased outstanding talent in the region, with Narelle Power taking out the top Overall Adult prize for Morning Mist.

Danielle Olt's image of a baby tree frog on a leaf was awarded best Overall Student photograph.

Environment and Conservation Committee chairwoman Heather Morrow said the quality of the entries was outstanding.

"It was an incredibly tough field this year, with 1222 entries overall, up from last year's 1002," Cr Morrow added.

Award categories included flora and fauna through to waterways and wetlands.

An selection of the images will show in Riverlink Shopping Centre until October 30.
