Schools in solar boost

ELEVEN local schools will benefit from the Federal Government’s $420 million National Solar Schools Program.

Federal Member for Blair Shayne Neumann said grants of up to $50,000 would help the schools install solar power systems and rainwater tanks, and implement a range of energy-efficiency measures.

He said recipients included Ipswich State High School, Ipswich Special School, Tivoli State School, Ipswich West Special School, Glamorgan Vale State School, Toogoolawah State School, Lowood State High School and the Sunday Creek Environmental Education Centre.
