THERE'S a new dish taking the world by storm, and it's called Toowoomba.

Multiple cooking videos have been posted online showing chefs preparing something unusual... Toowoomba.

The dish varies from place to place but appears to be some kind of pasta.

Renowned Korean chef Koo Dae-young posted a video called "Super simple Toowoomba spaghetti".

Toowoomba ramen pasta, it's a thing apparently.

He chops carrots and onion and boils pasta in water.

Mr Dae-young then sautés vegetables with mushroom and cured meat.

He then adds a creamy sauce and cheese along with chili.

Another dish prepared in Japan is known as Toowoomba ramen.

A video with comical music entitled "How to make Toowoomba Ramen Pasta" shows a chef preparing ramen noodles, garlic and onion.

Other ingredients in the dish include assorted vegetables, sausage, cheese and cream.

It's unclear whether Toowoomba is an actual ingredient or if the name just sounds good.

International food chain Outback Steakhouse also has a dish called Toowoomba Pasta.

It has become so popular that numerous copycat recipes are available online.

Emily Elizabeth created a faux version of the recipe and said: "The title speaks for itself! It is just a bit spicier than Outback's version if you use 3/4 tsp cayenne pepper."
