Motorway diversions tonight

IPSWICH-BOUND traffic on the Ipswich and Logan Motorways will face diversions tonight due to temporary lane closures to help construction crews carry out important road works.

Vehicles will be diverted along Brisbane Road between Gailes and Goodna, on to Smiths Road and back onto the motorway at Mine Street, Redbank, from 11.30pm tonight until 4.30am Tuesday morning.

Heavy vehicles will be directed to use the Centenary Highway.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads says access to properties along this detour will be maintained but residents are asked to be patient and take care when exiting their property.

The closures will allow crews to safely install an overhead gantry on the Ipswich Motorway at Redbank.
