Classic muscle cars to rev up in Ipswich

SEVEN-TIMES Bathurst V8 Touring Car champion Jim Richards is making a special appearance at this weekend's Shannon's Two Days of Thunder at Queensland Raceway.

The meeting features the Australian v New Zealand Trans Am Shootout, Group N Historic Touring Cars, Classic V8 Sports Sedans, Muscle Car Sprints and Porsche Museum Car demo.

As patron of the meeting, Richards will bring his Group A 635 JPS BMW for demonstration laps tomorrow and Sunday.

More than 200 entrants will be involved across a variety of classes including Historic Touring Cars, big American V8s, Trans-Am Race cars and V8 Muscle Cars.

Track highlights include the Black Trucks/Tranzmile Historic Group N, Cobra and GT40s.

Families and enthusiasts will have a chance to see some of the world's most exciting cars up close.
