Motorist has never 'owned' driver's licence

AN UNLICENSED female motorist has been caught drunk behind the wheel after she drove to fill up her car with petrol.

Krystal Lee Farrington pleaded guilty at Ipswich Magistrates Court to driving over the general alcohol limit in Goodna on September 9.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Paul Caldwell said officers pulled the 31-year-old over at about 10.45pm when they observed her pulling out of a McDonald's at high speed and failed to give way to other motorists.

She was given a breath test which showed an alcohol reading of .064.

Farrington said she had consumed two drinks of Jim Beam Devil's Cut Bourbon before driving to put petrol in her car.

She also said she didn't own a driver's licence and never had.

She was fined $550 for both charges and disqualified from holding a driver's licence for four months.
