Rider seriously injured in crash

A MOTORCYCLE rider has been left with serious injuries following a crash near Gatton yesterday.

Police said initial investigations suggested the rider lost control while riding along Gatton-Esk Rd at Churchable about 4.45pm.

The bike travelled onto the gravel shoulder of the road before travelling over a raised section of a driveway, causing the rider to lose control.

The motorcycle then hit a large metal letter box.

The rider, a 22-year-old Kingaroy man, sustained suspected fractures and was air lifted the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

His injuries were not considered to be life threatening.

Police said they were continuing their investigations into the cause of the crash.
