Mosquitoes real danger

IPSWICH City Council will start fogging operations to reduce mosquito breeding in flooded areas of the city from this morning.

Health and Regulation Committee chairman Andrew Antoniolli said the dangers of mosquito-borne diseases were very real.

“We have a massive task still to perform, and the seasonal condi- tions have been ideal for mosquito breeding,” Cr Antoniolli said.

“Please be aware of the dangers of mozzies throughout the current conditions and be sensible when you are outdoors. If you don't have repellent, just ask someone in your work group."
