Morning tea event biggest yet

JAN Grieve and her team of volunteers hosted a tea party for almost 200 people yesterday.

The Australia's Biggest Morning Tea (ABMT) event was the largest of the 13 consecutive parties that Mrs Grieve has hosted.

The party was held on the official ABMT date at the Ipswich Showgrounds, and featured entertainment from singers and dancers, and St Mary's College and St Edmund's College students waited on guests.

"It's wonderful, I'm so happy it's gone on for so many years," Ms Grieve said.

Ms Grieve and friend Joan Wellen decided to host the Cancer Council fundraising events after Ms Grieve lost both her daughters, aged 24 and 30, to cancer in the 1970s.
