Moogerah open, but don't drink it straight

LAKE Moogerah has been re-opened to water-based recreation activities following the recent closure for water quality issues.

The decision to re-open the lake, south-west of Boonah, followed Seqwater investigations and ongoing water quality testing.

But people were still advised not to drink raw lake water.

Wivenhoe and Somerset Dams both had 100% flood storage capacity remaining, and more than 90% drinking water capacity.

According to Seqwater, Wivenhoe was at 91.9% drinking water capacity, and Somerset 97.7%.
