Missing man found dead in bushland at Springfield

LATEST: THE body of a man reported missing last weekend has been found in bushland at Springfield.

Police found the 36-year-old's body just after 2pm yesterday, eight days after he was reported missing.

There are no suspicious circumstances and police would like to thank members of the public and the media for their assistance in the matter.

Police would also like to thank all those who helped participate in the search for the man.

LATEST: POLICE are still looking for a man who went missing from Springfield more than a week ago.

Benjamin Martin was last seen around 9pm last Sunday night at a Springfield residence on Emerald Crescent.

He has not contacted family or friends since and police hold concerns for his safety.

A police and SES search of bushland at Springfield failed to find him.

Police urge anyone who has seen Mr Martin or has further information to contact them.

Police are asking the residents and business owners within the four kilometre radius to please check yards and premises for Mr Martin.

LATEST: Police are continuing to seek public assistance to locate a 36-year-old man who was reported missing from Springfield on October 15.

Benjamin Martin was last seen around 9pm last Sunday night at a Springfield residence on Emerald Crescent.

He has not contacted family or friends since and police hold concerns for his safety.

Police are coordinating a search operation for Mr Martin which consists of police, SES members, POLAIR and horses from the QPS mounted unit who have occupied the areas surrounding Emerald Crescent in a four kilometre radius.

Police are asking the residents and business owners within the four kilometre radius to please check yards and premises for Mr Martin.

Officers are also asking the public and owners to be vigilant when walking their dog or driving around the search area.

Mr Martin is described as Caucasian in appearance, 186cm tall, solid build with brown hair and blue eyes.

He may have been wearing a plastic poncho when he went missing and police urge anyone who may have seen Mr Martin or has further information to contact them.

 

UPDATE 8AM TUESDAY: POLICE are still looking for a 36-year-old man missing from Springfield on the weekend.

Benjamin Martin was last seen around 9pm last night at his Springfield residence. He has not contacted family or friends since and police are concerned for his safety.

A land search began in bushland off Emerald Ct on Tuesday but the man is still missing as of Wednesday morning.

 

UPDATE: Police and SES are searching bushland at Springfield after a man was reported missing overnight.

The search has been underway near Emerald Ct since 7am this morning after Benjamin Martin went missing on Sunday night.

The 36-year-old was last seen at 9pm on Sunday at a home at Springfield and has not contacted family or friends since.

Police are concerned for his safety.

Mr Martin is described as Caucasian in appearance, 186cm tall, solid build with brown hair and blue eyes.

Police urge anyone who has seen Mr Martin or has further information to contact them.
