Minor injuries as car strikes boy

A YOUNG boy has escaped serious injury after having his hand run over by a car at Leichhardt this morning.

Police and paramedics rushed to Toongarra Rd about 8.30am following reports the boy had been struck by a vehicle and that vehicle had left the scene.

The boy sustained minor injuries and did not require transportation to hospital.

Police said it was possible the driver of the vehicle was not aware the boy had been struck.
