Millions in funding to help battle bullying, homophobia

FEDERAL Labor has earmarked $8 million to help in the battle against bullying and homophobia in our schools.

The funding will be handed over to the Foundation for Young Australians to help expand its Safe Schools Coalition program across the country, enabling the organisation to deliver more training and resources to ensure students feel safe and supported.

The foundation will be guided by the National Safe Schools Framework and will also have the newly created Safe Schools Hub website at its disposal.

The website is a one-stop shop of information and resources to ensure schools, parents and specialists who provide support to students, such as chaplains, student welfare officers and school psychologists, have the resources they need to ensure safe and supportive environments.
