Miller turns down committee due to 'conflict of interest'
BUNDAMBA MP Jo-Ann Miller has rejected an offer for her to sit on a parliamentary committee due to an "inevitable conflict of interest".
Ms Miller told parliament on Thursday she had been offered a position on the education committee but had spoken to the Integrity Commissioner and warned against it.
Ms Miller said she had spoken to the commissioner who had warned her of an "inevitable conflict of interest" if she served on a committee.
Declining the position will cost Ms Miller the $23,430 extra salary committee members are paid on top of their base salary. - APN NEWSDESK
