Miley Cyrus on telling mother she likes girls too

MILEY Cyrus has spoken about her sexuality, revealing that she told her mother aged 14 that she was equally attracted to girls as well as men.

Cyrus, 22, perhaps best known for her controversial performances, said: "I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn't involve an animal and everyone is of age.

"Everything that's legal, I'm down with," she told Paper Magazine.

The singer is currently promoting a new initiative, the Happy Hippie Foundation, aimed at raising awareness for homeless and LGBT young people.

In the interview with the magazine she recounts how she realised her own feelings towards women and told her mother.

"I remember telling her I admire women in a different way. And she asked me what that meant. And I said, I love them. I love them like I love boys".

She mentioned her mother initially found it "hard to understand."

"She didn't want me to be judged and she didn't want me to go to hell," Cyrus said.

"I just asked her to accept me. And she has."

The singer, who has been linked to a number of high profile singers and actors, added: "I don't relate to being boy or girl, and I don't have to have my partner relate to boy or girl."
