Menzies was a true conservative

PM MALCOLM Turnbull recently said that Menzies didn't start a conservative party.

Was the Liberal Party that Sir Robert Gordon Menzies started conservative?

I pose these questions: would Menzies have supported same-sex marriage?

Was Menzies pro-monarchy or republican?

The following should settle that question: At a function at Parliament House, Canberra 1963, attended by Queen Elizabeth II, Sir Robert Menzies said this Elizabethan poem by Thomas Ford: "I did but see her passing by, and yet I love her till I die."

Menzies was a monarchist and a Knight of the Thistle. Menzies would not recognise the bent-out-of-shape, confused party, riding a lame horse into a wilderness of confusion called the modern Liberal Party of today.

Sir Robert Menzies was conservative, Mr Turnbull, which you are most definitely not!
